For those who were eager to get to Modesto Reservoir and didn't want to miss a moment of the enjoyment of our 2022 campout, holders with Thursday early arrival passes get early entry onto the venue, allowing them to reserve a premium camping spot and take part in unique pre-party events.
The atmosphere on Thursday night was fantastic, and everyone waiting to rejoin on the dance floor had grins on their faces.
Campers enjoyed a blend of music and cannabis at our new Ganja Garden, presented by People’s Remedy, followed by our traditional Pajama Party night theme. Campers, attendees, and staff danced their way into the weekend with special sets from Claude VonStroke, followed by an ultimate B2B between Derrick Carter, DJ Sneak, and Mark Farina at Bass Lodge.
The fun didn't stop there; campers and supporters raced through the field in a fierce game of Black Light Capture The Flag.
Friday
At 12 o'clock, the opening ceremony signaled the beginning of the weekend's activities and events, and Claude's Cabin erupted in laughter and applause. Attendees cheered and hollered for their competing comrades in full jubilation as color team captains pumped up their team during competitive games of speed walking, joined by Danny Goliger and Mike Kerrigan, and Tug-O-War, joined by Uffie.
At 1:30 pm, the Birdhouse music stage opened, kicking off the most exciting 3-day weekend ever. Tie Die and Camp Salon were the first Craftopia activities, adding to the already-present exotic and bright aesthetics that permeate Dirtybird Campout.
One of the day's musical highlights, among more than 20 artists, was Barclay Crenshaw at Bass Lodge and the amazing duo Get Real featuring Claude VonStroke and Green Velvet, held in Birdhouse.
Friday was undoubtedly a spectacular return to Dirtybird Campout as fans attended the Frick Frack Blackjack at the Games Field, Lap Dance 4 Your Life at Claude's Cabin, and Steve Bug closing the sunrise set at our newest Hideout Stage after the main stages closed.
Saturday
The pre-party and day one's chaos continued Saturday with all the vivacious energy that weekends are known for. Morning heads joined us at Ganja Garden with amazing Wake & Bake Beats with special guest DJs at 10 am.
Sets by Dillon Marinez, Nala, Claude VonStroke, and VNSSA highlighted Saturday’s Birdhouse. The Bass Lodge stage was ruled by the one and only British DJ Goldie, known for his UK jungle, drum and bass, and breakbeat hardcore scenes.
At Craftopia, creative minds might flourish via Totem Crafting and Friendship Bracelets.
Color teams gathered at the Games Field and fought against one another tossing water balloons, joined by Mary Droppinz or Dodgeball, joined by Arnold & Lane, Dillon Marinez, Chocolate Sushi, and Mike Kerrigan.
Claude's Cabin was the center for everything and anything strange, like the Great Bingo Revival, giving away the Dirtybird Kajak. From our well-known comedy show The Sethward Show to endless laughter with our rich entertaining lineup to Lovebirds Dating Show, Claude's Cabin was the hub for everything and anything.
Of course, we cannot let the night end at 12 am. After the main stages closed, we took the party to our secret Hideout Stage where, among other night owl DJs, Cour T. and Claude VonStroke played into the sun.
sunday
As the last day of the Dirtybird Campout approached, feelings of both joy and grief pervaded many. To give early risers a chance to get into the groove and unwind before engaging in the mayhem that lay ahead, Wake & Bake Beats started at 10 am, followed by Yoga at Claude's Cabin, which drew a great number of participants.
Creative heads exchanged their own made patches and printed screens with our special guest NALA at Craftopia.
Many people headed to the lake to escape the heat of Modesto, filling the reservoir with open boats and paddle boards.
At Claude's Cabin's closing ceremony, the purple team was honored for their achievements as they took the lead in the 2022 games. Even a gloomy night couldn't stop the Dirtybird flock from having a good time as the Hideout stage wrapped up with the legendary family set, allowing every artist on the bill to join in and play a song to cap the weekend. Twerkaholicz Twerk & Werk Shop at Claude’s Cabin and Blackjack Frick Frack at Games Field kept the top players up until early in the morning, but spirits remained high.
The camping trip was fantastic, and we cannot express in words how much we appreciate each one of you for making our Campout experiences memorable every year!
